Killing Jenna Crane by Lynette Sofras5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Her life has spiraled into Fairy Tale hell, but can Jaine still find her happily ever after?Ģ) How does my work differ from others of its genre? As she adjusts to her new popularity, Jaine contends with hiding the embarrassing job from her annoying sisters, finding a date for a family wedding, proving her marketing savvy with an end-of-summer ball, and struggling to ignore her growing feelings for Dylan who is unfortunately dating her old high school rival. Now that she’s Cinderella, men suddenly show romantic interest in this “plain Jane,” including Prince Charming and an ex-boyfriend who suddenly re-enters the picture. When she sends a blind resume to the Fairy Tale Adventures theme park, filling the glass slippers of Cinderella for the summer is not what she had in mind, but her cute boss Dylan promises it’s only temporary. Here is the blurb: Unemployed marketing coordinator Jaine Andersen needs a job. ![]() I’m working on the last couple chapters of my first romantic comedy, Fooling Around With Cinderella. Next week, Lynette Sofras and Libby Fisher Hellman will post their responses to the below questions. This was a fun way to explore how I approach writing books and to share my latest project. I’d like to thank Kristin Battista-Frazee, author of the upcoming The Pornographer’s Daughter, for involving me in the Writing Process blog tour. ![]()

Himself by Jess Kidd5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() This striking literary debut is a darkly comic tale of murder, intrigue, haunting and illegitimacy. ![]() LOUIS DE BERNIERES, author of Captain Corelli's Mandolin It's one of those books that has you smiling as you read, and that you plan to read again very soon. Characters like Alyse drag you into their friendship anyway and make you recognize that you are loved, and valued, and important. It feels tricky to become friends with others, to be open and vulnerable with them. I am destroyed and terrified.”ĭylan’s relationships with others is something that I resonated with highly. ![]() ![]() “She smiles at me and I am far beyond smitten. The way Dylan gently learns how to have friends felt familiar, and the way the Cute Mutants are regularly assisting one another with their insecurities was fantastic to read. As the series continues, things get darker but you’re already too attached to everyone to quit. The humor and the references in the first book hook you and make you assume you’re starting safely with a light-hearted set of books. “…this is me, Dylan Taylor, human incarnation of the burning dumpster gif, and this is my life. These books start with Dylan realizing they can talk to inanimate objects, and that after years of fantasizing about becoming a mutant like the x-men, it’s happening. Very rarely does his work tread into outright fantasy (a notable exception being the Odd Thomas books, which include real ghosts). One notable aspect of Koontz' writing is that almost anytime there is a supernatural occurrence, its explanation, as outlandish as it might sometimes be, is usually physically possible, at least in theory. ![]() ![]() Sometimes it's like making love while having a tooth pulled."ĭean Ray Koontz (born July 9, 1945) is an American author known for writing suspense thrillers, many of which also contain elements of horror, action, science fiction, romance and satire.
